Watermelon Chia Juice

Do you want to know what refreshment is all about ? Well then, eat a juicy ripe watermelon on a throat parching summer day. Now, take that watermelon and turn it into refreshing drinks, and you’ve got the ultimate thirst-quencher with the bonus of that ravishing watermelon color.

This one is made with only watermelon ( with no water added to it) blending it smooth into a refreshing drink. The soaked and swollen Chia seeds are then added to it & served fresh.

Why Chia seeds you might ask….well, these superfood seeds are in the limelight now for their high nutrient value.Packed with fiber, omegas, potassium, and magnesium, these chia seeds are great for boosting energy, improving endurance, and even helping regulate digestion.

Simple easy recipe with only two ingredients, you may add sugar or honey to sweeten it, I did not in my recipe since the watermelon was very sweet.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups 2 Water melon pieces

  • 2 tsp 2 Chia seeds – ( soaked for 30 minutes)

Directions

  • Soak the chia seeds in 1/4 cup of water 30 minutes prior to preparing the juice
  • Placing the watermelon pieces in the refrigerator for an hour before making the juice helps skip the ice cube addition.
  • Add the freshly cut and cooled watermelon pieces in a blender and puree them fine into a smooth thick paste/liquid
  • Add a spoonful of Chia seeds into each glass your pour.

Notes

  • Two tablespoons of chia seeds have almost 10 grams of fiber. That’s around 40 percent of the recommended daily intake. Diets high in fiber have been linked to weight loss.
