“The earth laughs in flowers” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson.
Having waited for Spring for so long , glad to see, it is here now.The rains had washed the earth of it’s winter slumber and suddenly the earth smiles once again. If you like me enjoy flowers, walk along ,to see the treasures I find each morning…..
“Like wild flowers you MUST allow yourself to GROW in all the places, people thought you never would”
Lining the sidewalk , happily dancing in the breeze this dandelions greet me each morning, spreading their joy. Yes ! where some see weeds , I see wishes….
Before I moved in to this country, I had never seen a magnolia tree, needless to say its flower. The first time, I saw it, I stood beneath it and gazed and gazed at the sunlight streaming through it, making the petals transparent. In the night when I looked at the tree , it felt like a thousand stars fell off the sky…..I stood there awestruck about Almighty’s creation.
Last week, I discovered another truth, the tree does not even have to reach the sky, the stars reach out to the earth in sun kissed Spring time.
Look what I mean….. every flower a star !
Even as a kid, I had always loved the poem by William Wordsworth on Daffodils.
“I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils. “
…..even before I actually saw a daffodil, and when I finally saw them, the words wrote itself on my heart,”
“….And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils. “
They come in so many beautiful colors, I have no doubt that the Creator was an artist to begin with, how else could he match the shades so well ?
Then, there are these cute little flowers , I am not even sure of some of their names, but boy ! do they make you smile ?
….and then the Tulips, need I say more ? These are the colors, I have seen so far, elegant and graceful as they are, they are short lived, so capture I must their every hue, till they return next year….
Take yourself for a walk today, cherish all that nature has to offer, breathe in all the fresh air and the fragrance, you will be glad you did !
This post is so poetic!!!
Thank you, Sreejith , am fond of both poetry and nature, perhaps why 🙂
