Silence

Silence

“In the end we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends”

~ Martin Luther King. Jr

A loaded wise evergreen quote for all times. Know your friends.

You don’t make friends, you RECOGNIZE them.

They are called visionaries for a reason. The wisdom they imparted still rings true to this day. This is one of my favorite quotes from MLK, coz we each have been there at some point or another.

Silence is not always golden. A friend is the best gift you give yourself, choose them wisely.

To honor MLK today, look your friend, in the eye & ask how she or he is doing? When did you last do it ? How long has it been?Sometimes, that is, all it takes and that is all that matters!

I don’t care if you are fighting for a global issue & posting hundreds of petitions online for a cause. If you can’t stand up for a friend in the face of injustice & demonstrate that you are invested in the friendship as much as they are and are committed, you are but one among the masses.

Speaking up is an important form of honesty. Honesty actually builds trust, especially when combined with tact and empathy. Demonstrate that you will be truthful with people, that you care about them, and that you will give good advice because you are committed to the beautiful bond of friendship you share.

Go on be a genuine friend today & always

🙂
