What are Tangerines?

Tangerines, also known as mandarin oranges, are a tasty and refreshing citrus fruit packed with many nutritious compounds, including flavonoids, vitamin C, vitamin A, folate and potassium. These healthful components contribute to the health of all parts of the body, from cell DNA to the bones and heart.

Where do you find Tangerines?

Tangerines are grown in Arizona, California, Florida and Texas, and their best seasons are November through January in the United States and North America. Tangerines are smaller than most oranges, peel more easily and are usually less tart or sour in taste than the average orange

What do Tangerines symbolize to the Chinese?

Two of the most common food symbols of the Chinese New Year are tangerines and oranges. Whereas tangerines represent wealth, oranges are a popular symbol of good luck. … Oranges and tangerines are a traditional favorite, though, and can also represent happiness and abundance.

Dreaming of gifting a basket of tangerines to someone indicates your love for that person.

My first brush with Tangerines

The first time, I ever tasted a Tangerines was when I was expecting my child.Perhaps it was the craving for some tangy sweetness or me spotting the name “Cuties” on the basket of Tangerines, whatever it was I finished almost 15-20 “cuties” in one go that day. They were deliciously sweets & that is the way I will always remember them.

Bright, happy , cheerful little cuties, they get their name from their place of origin; Tangier, Morocco.
