Ready for Spring!

The snow is still on the ground, yet I wait anxiously for spring It has been a harsh winter this year, what with the Polar vortex and the never ending Ice storms , we are just about done with our tolerance to the frigid winter.

The weather played havoc the past month or so, that it is difficult to recollect which day of the month , we were not tense with the weather forecast around here. First there was snow like the skies opened up and poured in truck loads of it, then came the extremely dangerous Polar vortex with temps hitting below zero and the wind chills that were unimaginable, followed by the never ending Ice storms one after the other.

Scenes from the Ice storm that left tree branches look like sharp icicles all over and there was absolutely no visibility on the roads…

At this point we are so done with winter and can’t wait for spring to arrive, so come Valentine’s Day , and the sighting of flowers all over the place, in our minds we turned a corner in the weather scene….

Well, since Mother Nature is still off her meds and the temps outdoors still freezing, I decided to create my own sunshine indoors! A need for bringing in more flowers indoors took over, a kind of Hygge for the soul, if you will. So this weekend, I hygge’d’ our space with a little warmth & more flowers, I strongly believed sunshine would follow !

Hygge : Hygge is a Danish and Norwegian word for a mood of coziness and comfortable conviviality with feelings of wellness and contentment.

The tulips that have arrived at the stores and they were irresistible the last time I was at the grocers, so I had picked up a bunch and had came home with bird songs in my heart, perhaps, just perhaps if I put out signs of spring all over my home , perhaps Mother Nature would get the hint and usher in spring faster.

Tulips always meant spring to me…..

Just a week ago I had picked up some hyacinth bulbs, they were in cute little jars and the label read ,”Buy a bulb and help change woman’s lives”, off course I bought them ! Signs of hope, signs of spring everywhere!

The pink and purple hyacinths on my book shelf bloomed beautifully spreading their fragrance in the morning light.Their beauty is unmatched when they are in full bloom.

A calming soothing effect on your senses, is what Hygge is all about !

Add a little touch of spring in every corner of your home and watch the flowers do their magic !

Silently, I thanked the creator for his ways, how subtle his message, yet how vibrant his creations. “No matter how long the winter, SPRING is sure to follow !”

Say it with flowers, say it with fruits…..spring is right around the corner! Have you heard the birds, yet ?Do you think we will have an early spring this year?

“Spring will come and so will happiness. Hold on .Life will get warmer”
