Krishna Janmashtami, also known simply as Janmashtami or Gokulashtami, is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Krishna. He is considered to be the eighth avatar of Vishnu. Sri Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated on the eighth day of the dark fortnight in the month of Shravana. This year it falls on Saturday,August 24th, 2019.
