The weather forecaster had not minced any words when she announced on the Friday news that there will be heavy rains over the weekend. Fully prepared to face the rain head on, I felt mighty pleased to walk out of the Korean Market, with two packs of fresh caught fish. One was King fish steaks and the other wild caught Mackerel. Saturday arrived and with it the rain clouds, true to the word, it poured and poured. I had made my plans for the weekend already, a marathon cooking session of all favorite dishes to make the following week easy.
Watching a classic movie on Netflix, I started my weekend, refrigerator cleaned and organized, pantry stacked and then off to cooking. This fish fry recipe is made with a South Indian flavor, spicy enough to beat the cold rains and stay indoors and watch the pitter patter of the rains slashing the windows, that paired with a lovely movie, some hot rice and simple Tomato Rasam/Soup ( South Indian style again) was a perfect way to celebrate a weekend indoors.
