Banana FLAT Bread

The bananas in the fruit bowl seemed to say “Really???? what’s with this snow outside & the heater inside, we just don’t seem to get it!!!!” So they turn ripe overnight & there goes my resolution for having only fruits for breakfast, so what do I do?…..think of innovative ways to turn the messy bananas around.Winter does not seem to have left this part of the town, still snowing hard, weather forecast says, more to come frown emoticon I could do with a few flowers myself to cheer me up on this gloomy weather day, so put the two together & make it a win- win situation for the bananas & me.Breakfast was still an hour away, as I rummaged through my pantry wondering what to make for breakfast, I found this cute cookie cutter tucked in one of the shelves, I had bought a long time ago,through the corner of my eye I could still see the bananas sulking in the fruit bowl, so I whipped up an idea and came up with this ‘Banana flat breads’, which is not an entirely new recipe, but just gave it a flowery skirt to swing past the gloomy mood & Voila our day was made & so was the breakfast. .Enjoy it with your loved ones,I topped it with fresh fruit & maple syrup for my little one, you could use any fruit jam or honey too, even plain yogurt acts like a good dip. Note: Yes, this is a Banana bread with a twist, a FLAT one at that .

Ingredients:
1.Ripe Bananas- 2( mashed )
2.Wheat Flour- 2 cups
3.Warm milk- ( 1/2 cup)
4.Cardamom powder- a pinch
5.Ghee- a tbsp
6.Salt- a pinch ( optional)

Method:
1.In a bowl mash the ripe bananas well & then add the sieved wheat flour into it & mix well.
2.Now gently add the warm milk along the sides, while continuing to knead the dough( one can use warm water too, I add warm milk to make the chapatis or flat bread softer)
3.Add the cardamom powder to this( for added flavor) along with a pinch of salt.
4.Pour the warm ghee & continue kneading till the dough does not stick to the surface of the bowl .
5.Keep it covered with a lid for 10- 15 minutes, then make small balls out of them & roll them out on a floured surface.
6.Then place the cookie cutter on top & shape them accordingly, remove & fry them on a griddle browning both sides gently with a little butter or oil while turning them from side to side.
7.Serve hot with fresh fruits & maple syrup, honey or yogurt.Enjoy your flowery sweet breakfast on a nice weekend.
