The fishing season is slowly beginning to emerge, what with the torrential rains last week the lakes & rivers are flooded & the bridges overflowing.I remember going fishing near my parent’s farm as a kid with cousins & all,it was more excitement than the real fish, later used to fry it over fire in a simple preparation & enjoy eating it after all the fun of a sunny day.The first time I walked into a Bass Pro shop here in Chicago, I had no idea to the wonderment that struck me inside,I was in the midst of professional anglers and had never imagined there could be so many types of fishing equipment. This season signed up for learning fishing with my kid, since both of us are beginners and would love to share the outdoors & the fun involved in fishing ,so here I go introducing the various flavors in fish just to get us started for the season. This recipe is a quick & easy one, the only time required would be for marination, the rest would be divine.
Salmon- 4-5 ( cut into pieces of desired size)
Red chili powder- 1 tbsp
Black pepper powder- 1 tsp
Coriander powder- 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
Ginger garlic paste – 1tsp
Salt- to taste
Lime juice/vinegar- 2 tsp
Semolina- for coating the fish after marination
Oil- for frying the fish( 1/2 cup)
1.Clean & cut the fish in desired size.
2.Mix all the above ingredients together & marinate the fish pieces in it for half an hour or more.
3.Then coat them with fine semolina( just to get that crispy feel) & deep fry or shallow fry in oil according to your preference.
4.Serve hot with onion rings & tomato slices.
5.Enjoy a spicy meal( with the fish that you might have helped catch, makes it all the more tastier ).
